Giftanding (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information — name, email, password (hashed), and optionally a phone number when you create an account.
- Order information — shipping and billing address, order contents, and payment confirmation (we do not store full card numbers — Stripe and PayPal handle that).
- Usage data — pages visited, products viewed, referrer, device, IP address, and browser type.
- Marketing identifiers — when you arrive from a Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ad, we receive a click identifier so we can attribute the visit to the campaign.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Process and ship your orders.
- Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and receipts.
- Send marketing emails when you opt in (you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every marketing email).
- Measure advertising performance and reach similar customers through Meta's advertising platform via the Meta Pixel and Conversions API.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Sharing Your Information
We share information only with:
- Service providers — payment processors (Stripe, PayPal), shipping carriers, email service providers, hosting (Vercel, Render, Cloudflare), and analytics providers, strictly to deliver the service.
- Advertising platforms — hashed identifiers (email, phone) are sent to Meta via the Conversions API to measure campaign effectiveness. We never sell your personal information.
- Authorities — when required by law or to protect our rights.
4. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your cart, and measure traffic. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the site (cart, checkout, account) will not work without them.
5. Your Choices
- Access, correct, or delete your account information by signing in and visiting your account settings, or by emailing us.
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any marketing email.
- Opt out of personalized ads via your Meta ad preferences.
6. Data Retention
We keep order records for at least 7 years to comply with tax and accounting rules. Other information is deleted when you close your account, except where we are legally required to retain it.
7. Security
We protect your data with TLS in transit, hashed passwords, encrypted secrets at rest, and access controls. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password.
8. Children
Giftanding is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
